Jessica Ruano is a writer of press releases, newspaper articles, romantic emails, blog entries, brochures, academic papers, and – occasionally – of short stories and poetry.
This Canterbury Arts Graduate completed an undergraduate degree in English and Theatre at the University of Ottawa (2008), followed by a Master of Arts degree in Theatre Theory and Dramaturgy (2010).
In her spare time, she enjoys tree climbing, pancake making, and spontaneous kissing. And she has a soft spot for haiku.
After a four-year stint as a theatre director/producer in London, United Kingdom, she has returned to her hometown in Ottawa, Canada, and is currently working on a new verbatim dance-theatre piece about sexual violence in Canada titled The Ghomeshi Effect.
